From Coaches Emily Mauro and Brian Chabot:
We can’t say thank you enough on behalf of ourselves, the coaches and the entire team for the love and support. Your donations and investment into the program are amazing!
We’re about to move into a new era for WPI Track & Field/Cross Country, with the announcement that we are having a full renovation of our track facility in the spring/summer of 2024. Along with the new throws area that was built in the fall of 2021, we can once again host home meets in the coming years.
We need to invest in equipment for that to happen. Not only will new equipment benefit the team in practice, but it’ll present an attractive product for competitors, spectators, prospective student-athletes and alumni alike.
We want this to be a destination for teams to come and compete and we want to put on a great competition for everyone. Your support now will help us do that.
Each year we’re blown away by the support of our alumni, parents and friends of the program, not only during the GNGC campaign but throughout the academic year. There’s hardly a week that goes by where we don’t hear from an alum who remains engaged with the program and wants to help. Or parents that come out each and every weekend to cheer us on. Some continue to do it even after their son or daughter has graduated.
Meet Connor Gaudette ‘24:
“My team is a great community that I can rely on for help in classwork and inspiration to work harder. The track team serves as a close friend group that is always around to cheer me on academically just as much as athletically. With a large diversity in academic backgrounds there is always someone who can help me look at a problem from a different perspective.
I hope to use my WPI education to develop prosthetics and exoskeletons to assist patients with physical disabilities. My major qualifying project this year is focused on developing a voice control for a hand exoskeleton for patients with hypertonicity and spasticity as well as speech aphasia. My WPI education has given me the skills to develop technologies that can help people affected by unfortunate conditions lead more normal, independent lives.”

Year after year, we have called on your generosity in supporting our student-athletes. And as every time before, we knew the teams could count on you.
With more than 1020 donors and over $192,000, your commitment has blown us away once again. Without a doubt, what you have achieved here this week will provide transformative support for WPI Athletics. You are the GOAT!
Stay tuned for additional thanks from the teams and final tallies next week. For now, rest assured that they have received your message loud and clear—you are someone who cares deeply about our student-athletes and who believes in them as they work toward their ambitious goals on and off the field and court.
It simply means the world to have you in our corner. Thank you.

We are in the final hours of GNGC2024 and appreciate all the support so far! Please help us reach our goal of at least $175k, as we demonstrate how important WPI Athletics means to all of us with our collective impact. If you’ve given already - thank you! and please help by reaching out to others and encourage their participation.
And when giving (or giving again!), please consider the WPI Athletics General Fund that helps all 600 student-athletes and our 18 teams with their care and performance development.
Go Goats!!
